My Frames

The frames I build do not conform to the Standards of most commercial frames in that I believe the Work and the Frame should become one.

The Frames I build are as unique as the Work they house!

-------------------

I begin by constructing what I term the “Image Box.” This is the component of the frame that houses the finished work. In the case of “Crop Circles” there are three separate works housed in the Image Box.

---------------------------

Once the Image Box is complete I build the rest of the frame around it.

---------------------------

At this point I disassemble the frame (I use screws instead of glue) and fill and sand all the imperfections in the wood.

-------------------

All the individual components of the frame are then primed and a coat of Acrylic Polymers is applied.

-------------------

I then paint the individual components in the finish color and apply another coat of Acrylic Polymers.

---------------------------

The frame is then reassembled at which time all seams and screw holes are filled and sanded. Additional Acrylic Polymers and paint are applied. The end result is a work that is one with the frame!

-------------------

I Apply The Same Construction Techniques To The Unpainted Frames I Build

However I Do Not Fill The Seams As I Do With Painted Frames
